World Blind Day celebrated

World Blind Day was celebrated by the students of National Association for the Welfare of Physically Challenged (NAWPC) with an oratory, computer and various other competitions for the visually challenged on October 16. Held at the NAWPC campus, Sadashiv Peth, the competitions saw over 50 participants. NAWCP demonstrated how its students have picked up computer skills. “We want to spread computer literacy among the visually impaired and encourage our students to be independent and believe in themselves,” said Rahul Deshmukh, founder president of the association. Brij Mohan Sethi, director, Thermax, who was the chief guest at the occasion gave out prizes to the winners of the competitions and marvelled at the courage and determination of the students at the institute.
