Swachhta Pakhwada observed at Silver Bells Convent School

In a spirited demonstration of their commitment to fostering cleanliness and spreading Swachhta awareness, Silver Bells Convent School wholeheartedly embraced the call from CBSE. The directive, which called for the observance of Swachhta Pakhwada from September 1 to 15, 2023, brought forth a flurry of engaging activities and initiatives aimed at realizing the Swachhta Mission.

As the honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi aptly put it, “A clean India would be the best tribute India could pay to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary in 2019.” With this vision in mind, Silver Bells Convent School embarked on a week-long journey to celebrate Swachhta Pakhwada, involving students of all ages in a series of impactful activities.

The school’s youngest scholars eagerly participated in quizzes and painting competitions centered around the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, while teachers took up the mantle of enlightening their students about the paramount significance of a clean environment. Meanwhile, the senior students delved into the art of debate, alongside the thoughtful task of posting awareness messages. Even the administrative staff joined in, meticulously sorting through old files, records, and worn-out furniture.

Stepping beyond the school gates, senior secondary students ventured into their local communities to sensitize residents about the virtues of cleanliness and proper hygiene practices. As the Swachhta Pakhwada reached its conclusion, students and teachers took pledge, vividly illustrating the pressing need to maintain pristine surroundings. The students passionately conveyed that the concept of cleanliness should transcend mere words and images, transforming into a living reality.

In a grand culmination, students from all walks of life united to take a solemn pledge, vowing to champion cleanliness and to propagate this vital message far and wide. It was a week of purpose, of shared responsibility, and above all, a resounding call to turn ideals into action.
